They could still join if LMH and DPI2 are becoming compatible with one another. And if costs are coming down further.  And that's fucking bananas. The costs of LMH have already been drastically reduced from LMP1.

I thought that the hyperclass would draw more high end manufacturers simply to advertise their road car business.

It’s a real shame, I wanted to see Ferrari, McLaren, or maybe something really out there like Hyundai if only to develop their “N” branding.

Ideally, we’d have the premium German brands all racing - Porsche, AMG, BMW, Audi - but all of them seem to be most interested in Formula E.

Peugeot is providing all the funding, Rebellion is just running the car because Peugeot doesn’t have an in-house motorsport program. There’s no reason for McLaren to farm out a LMH program when it would probably cost them less to run it from the in-house racing team.

The Peugeot-Rebellion model is the same model that has been used at Le Mans for years. Toyota-Oreca, Audi-Joest, Peugeot-Oreca, the only “ factory” LMP1 program that was actually run by the factory was Porsche.

They are full of it. They already have a great racing team and multiple hypercars produced/upcoming they could easily throw a program together. They could probably do it easier than anyone else right now currently signed up.
